Lobby is huge, has a pool. Restaurant, bar and laundry service are extortionate but breakfast is epic and guests get 30% off

We woke up early to get to have breakfast as we had an early pickup for a tour of the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and Tiannamen Square, we waited in the lobby earlier than required, but started to wonder whether we would be getting picked up at about 8.30am, and went to enquire at the reception, they tried calling for us as it was in Chinese, …

We tried to sleep a bit but you never get much sleep!! We arrived at 7am, found our bags, went through customs then went to find a phone card. We got hassled by …

Not sure why this should be a problem as being in the tropics you would have thought that they would be use to a little rain. But first lets start at the beginning. Our Air New Zealand flight left Auckland and landed in …

I am now officially the size of an elephant. The day started with a cooked breakfast, including pancakes, buffet lunch and then A Peking Duck banquet for dinner. In between we visited a Ming Dynasty tomb, climbed the Great Wall and took a boat trip at the Summer Palace. Oh, and I all most forgot the mandatory stop at the government Jade factory. …

I am very disappointed today, no pancakes for breakfast. I had to slum it with waffles and maple syrup, whilst Deb went for the steamed buns and spring rolls. However we did have time for some people watching and it would appear that even monks like a buffet breakfast. There was three of them and they looked to be vegetarians with penchant for …
