    The candle procession was quite breathtaking. Thousands of people praying the rosary, holding candles, processing behind a statue of Our Lady in a glass case being held aloft.     The Tormalet is called the giant of the Pyrenees for a reason. It is long and steep from both sides. From this side the last 9 or 10km are a steady 8-10% which is tough when, by the time you reach the top, you will have climbed 3600+m. In short, I didn’t have much left.

    We said our goodbyes to David and Sundara and headed off from Ventenac to the Basque, 425km drive, we decided to go via the tolls and wow can you eat of the km's on these autoroutes, cruising along at 130km it wasn't long before we had cruised past Toulouse and was 1/2 way there.
