Paris, Île-de-France, France cariverga... so we took a picture of us mocking Nadine to keep this memory forever.
After that fiasco, Kristin and I just wanted to relax, and there happened to be a movie theater right there on that street, so Nadine ventured off on her own for a bit, and the lazy cousins sat in a movie theater and watched The Reader. Now, it may seem silly to go all the way to Paris and sit in a theater, but we did learn some more French because of the French subtitles, so that was educational, and, we ...
... months. Somewhere in there we stopped for lunch and got some hearty French food such as croquettes and the like. Good thing we were doing all that walking. We decided to skip the Louvre for lack of time, so again, something I'll have to save for later. Instead we went to Sacre Coeur which was in the area of Montmartre near-ish to the Moulin Rouge. We did a little window shopping in some of the wacky, brightly colored ...
Paris, France carpeau... red wines eventually turn a shade of white. He showed us examples. WOW! We must've been there an hour just listening to him show us various bottles and telling us the story behind it. Awesome! Well worth the trip (again) to Di Vinis Illustrubus. We head to the hotel grab our jackets and ask the front desk to make us reservations at Bofinger for dinner. No problem - we have resers ~45 minutes from now. We catch the Metro and enjoy our ...
Paris, France esmigiel... apartment. I spent the next 20 minutes sitting on top of the washing machine in the bathroom with my pants rolled up and feet soaking in hot water in the sink. It felt soooo good as I drank my glass of wine. We headed out to walk in our neighborhood before dinner and came across a wonderful shop, Olive & Co. We sampled some of the olive oil out for customers. We both purchased a small jar of tomatoe "power," which is mixed with olive oil ...
St. Germain-en-laye, France mjpileggi... we have seen, compared, in fact with almost all of the cities I have seen, a wonderful place. I'm not sure you would agree if you were living in the awful slums just outside it and had to trek miles to work through all the parks and gardens, but I don't know. We were very fortunate to meet a man who had lived and worked in Chandigarrh ever since it was built. In fact he had been involved, peripherally, in its building, and passed on gossip about le corbusier, whom he was proud to ...
Paris, France charlotte_bovis... river front, to enjoy the bustling, bohemian atmosphere of St. Michel/Latin Quarter -- all were quintessentially French to me. My apartment was even right across the street from Parc Monceau, where Claude Monet painted a series of five idyllic works. There were so many reasons to revisit Paris, for every time I came back, I would find new surprises of beauty and charm hidden around the city.
Paris, France globetrekker... harassed by some people on the street wanting to do a sketch of me, one guy even went as far to say "C'mon a nice drawing with your little goatee, and your baby face", ************!!!!!! You aren't going to win someone over telling them they have a baby face, well maybe a girl but not me *******. Stopped for a bite to eat because I was dying then continued on. I stumbled across a Dali Exhibition so I went to it which was okay but a lot of the same ...
Paris, France hollywood012Our last sleeper car - and thankfully, a decent night's sleep. Morning in Paris. My deft directional skills again working full swing as we board the local metro..... to take us out of town. Cool thing was we realized it early enough, met some other Americans on the train (one who was childhood neighbor of a gfriend of ours) and passed by the World Cup ...
