      ... area around the Sorbonne called the Latin Quarter because the scholars that flocked to this area primarily spoke Latin. We explored the exterior of Notre-Dame Cathedral, but decided to take a lunch break and do the interior another day as we wanted to make sure we had enough energy for our next stop.       ... trouble sleeping at the start the naps were coming thick and fast. Qatar looked very much like a desert flying in and that is all I believe it was.       ... lazy first day. Found a really good food market did a few tastings had juice and croissant and then walked down the main drag i.e past the Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. Then we returned to the food market and had a curry. That afternoon still amazingly able to eat we took a picnic back to the hotel and had a night in.       ... view which was really stunning and had a stroll in Montmartre. We then went to Sainte-Chappelle. It is a real masterpiece of gothic art with its huge stain glass windows. Downstairs is not as nice but upstairs really makes up for it. It doesn't take long to walk around there so we decided to go next door to the Court House.
