... s hard to stay motivated at the laptop as soon as I look out the window! Anyhow, New Zealand is finally all planned (tours, hostels, and rental car are booked after a ton of price comparing and checking out traveler reviews...the options are overwhelming), which is good considering we depart next Friday! Most of Australia is planned as well...Brian and I will have 18 days to work our way from Townsville to Byron Bay and back to Brisbane. We'll be driving most of the way (bussing the ...

Change in travel plans!

Hi everyone!

Just a short update to let you know that we've had a small change in travel plans. Due to the financial crisis, the KPMG Wollongong office doesn't have enough work to keep Brian busy! So, the Australian partners put their heads together to decide what to do. Their solution: send us to Cairns (in 2 weeks) for 5 weeks, then send us back to Wollongong for the final 6 weeks of his secondement. For those of you ...

Sydney Airport - Well, Here we go Again!

... Highway into northern Pakistan. Our feelings were still a mixture of excitement and trepidation. But once again there was little point in feeling apprehensive. We were on our way. And there could be no going back.

We love eveything about the flight to Shanghai from the first drink in the Sydney Airport Lounge to arriving in the exotic and exciting city of Shanghai. Just embarking on the ...

Wollongong - Beach Skydive

... we did a perfect landing on our backsides as we skidded across the grass (and nearly collided with somebody else, which would have really hurt). The first thing I wanted to do was to go and find Hattie to make sure that she was ok, she was the next person out of the plane after me and I could see her once my parachute had opened. She was still floundering about, getting untied from the instructor. Overall it was absolutely BRILLIANT! I would definitely do it again.

... dollars, which incidentally is a hugely different approach than one suggested by Chris Howard and many many others who all state that the first thing you need to do is FIND YOUR PASSION and follow it with everything you have got, so much that you would do it for nothing. that's the first step, according to those who believe in the laws or recipricocity. So yes the YHA was gorgeous I had a wonderful walk reccommended to me, lol I say reccommended actually he reccommmended I catch a ...

... and expression, it should look at itself and ask why it is being defamed in the first place. Perhaps because its most vocal members widely support and encourage violent protest and even terrorism on civilians while simultaneously defaming other religions as well. I know the voice of more moderate followers are completely drowned out by these reactions and that's a pity. One UN official thinks that defaming religion is a threat to world peace ...

Park being a relatively new tourist drive that hugs the coast from the Royal National Park to Wollongong and offers some of the coasts most spectacular scenery - ocean panoramas, surf beaches, rainforest and coastal villages beneath the towering cliffs of the Illawarra escarpment leading to the Sea Cliff Bridge, then leads to Wollongong and beyond. while the Grand Pacific Drive has been compared with Victoria's ...

Last Day

... bunch of clothing we'd just bought from the surf store at the airport... someone nicked off with the bag when we put it down... unfortunately we'd been held in queues and had to get through customs quickly, as we only had about 30mins before our flight left... no chance to report it so no insurance claim... Hey ho, we getting on our flight now and heading back to dear old blighty...... it's been a truly awesome year, one we will never forget!

Sightseeing around Sydney

... ultra fresh sea food and fish but there's loads of little cafes and restaurants where you can sit and eat and watch the hustle and bustle of the market. it's a fantastic day out. Lee, Fay, Ad, Kenny and I all went down to have a look around and then have lunch. There were crabs, big huge fish, probably about as tall as me, snapper, baramundi, alll types of fish you could possibly think of, rows and rows of lush juicy scallops in there shells, scampi all lined up like little ...

... we wanted to see the boats leave the harbour but didn't get down there in time so it was fab to see them mid-ocean and on there way from teh comfort of Kenny's flat. The harbour curise itself was brilliant, we set off early evening and got to see the whole of the harbour while the sun was setting and not only that, we got too see the opera house and bridge at night too. The harbour looks stunning at night, with all the lights ...
