What's all the fuss about?
We just spent 3 nights in New York at the Novotel. We planned the trip on short notice, so I did as much research as possible on the internet before choosing the Novotel based on so many good reviews. What a mistake! First, we specifically requested a non-smoking room. As soon as we walked in our room we could smell the strong scent of just sprayed air freshener, and when that wore off a few minutes later, the room smelled like a dirty ashtray! Also noted were four or five burn holes in the rug. Nice! Second, we could hear the phone ringing and the television playing in the rooms arond us. Room service trays from our next door neighbor stayed on the hallway floor for entire days. We battled gnats daily in our room. This was the middle of January!! I don't have any clue what all the fuss is about this hotel. We will never stay there again!!
Excellent!!
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was a present from my mum for my 21st Birthday. When we arrived the staff were very friendly and welcoming (it felt strange having to go in a lift to reception though) The check-in was quick. We went up to the room and about 10 minutes later a complimentary bottle of Champagne was delivered with a lovely birthday card from the manager. The hotel is clean and the views over Times Square (which we requested) were amazing especially from the 23rd floor! I would definately recommend this hotel - well, I already have and would stay here on my return to New York.
Absolutely Brilliant
Novotel was excellent , and what a PERFECT location,our room (#1005) look right onto Time Sq.Rooms were clean and spacious. Everything that I could have wished for.Brilliant!
Fantastic hotel in a great position
My partner and I stayed at the Novotel in January 03,we have stayed in a Novotel hotel in England so we had an idea of what to expect.We did'nt expect the ideal location of the hotel,the views from our room,looking down Times Square,and the service from the hotel staff was excellent. The hotel was clean and the rooms were well presented. We were that impressed we are returning to the Novotel in August 04 for our summer break.
Novotel is a first class hotel
I stayed at the Novotel during the blackout of August 2003. The staff was wonderful. They handed out flashlights to everyone. The went over and above the call of duty. The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are roomy, clean and quiet. I will definitely stay here again.
We loved the novotel
I have recently come back from a christmas break to new york with my partner. We stayed at the novotel and found it very comfatable and friendly. The location of the Novotel was perfect, right near times square. I could not say a bad word about about the novotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful especially the maid and the tourist information guy in the lobby. We paid a very reasonable price to stay at the Novotel and would definatly return again.
Loved the view
just loved it. We had a room facing Times Square it was amazing to follow the citylife down below. The hotel was very clean and quiet If there is one thing that was less good it was the price of the breakfast. (very expensive)
Great Room! Excellent Location! Discover the Novotel!
On a vacation to NYC in the summer of 2002, I discovered the Novotel after horrible experiences at 2 other hotels (whatever you do, don't stay at the Park Central!!!). That's right, I stayed at 3 hotels during my 2 weeks there and as they say, the third time's the charm! The lobby is so fascinating because it is not on ground level. You take an elevator from the street to the lobby! It made me feel like a VIP going to my own private hotel. The lobby itself is nice and comfortable without being over the top. I made my reservation calling a third party web site (no access to computers) and I still got a room on a high floor with a great view. The room was pleasant with plenty of room - with a couch and an easy chair! The bathroom was a good size too. When I ordered more towels (because we were taking 3 showers each day - awful humidity!), the houseman brought more than enough! (great touch) I will gladly stay at the Novotel again. A great retreat from the hustle and bustle of being a tourist in New York City! Great stay!
Very Nice Hotel, Great Location
We stayed at the Novotel in February, 2002 for 4 days. Although the hotel was doing some reservations at the time, it was still very nice. Nice, clean rooms, excellent views, great lobby, and a fantastic location. The only drawback was the prices at the hotel bar/restaurant, other than that, a fantastic experience.
Nice lobby, shame about the hotel
A nice looking lobby fronts an oh so average hotel with expensive location. Go elsewhere and avoid the empty promises of this place.
