First and foremost, we had to check out the food. Being two foodies with nothing else to do until we checked into our hotel, we couldn't wait to scorch our tongues on some chilies. Arriving early morning didn't mean what westerners would consider breakfast, we went straight into a round of yellow curry and spicy chicken larb from the street stall …
Eliza wanted to visit a floating market, but our choice was a compromise. Bang Nanph Eung is a local market, little known by tourists and situated over a canal. Tim had researched the local transport options, so after a very early breakfast we used foot, sky train, taxi, river ferry and motorbike (a motorbike taxi service) to get us there. All the …
There's a weekend market near the Mo Chit sky train terminus and Eliza and Berenice headed there fairly early. Mega huge market with hundreds and hundreds of stalls selling everything from pets to T shirts, vegetable peelers and beads. We girls had fun choosing bits and pieces. A bit of time in Siam Discovery and then MBK (both big scale shopping experiences for we country folk). Back to the hotel for a quick swim and breather then …

A lovely way to remember Vang Vieng. Today was set aside for getting back to …

Nothing really offensive or complimentary about the hotel. It was a bit annoying that they were having construction on the pool area while staying here, but otherwise the staff was friendly and helpful. No restaurant worth talking about. The location is a bit far from most of the attractions, but the public transport station is right down the street if you are looking to take the light rail.
