Let the European leg begin...

... just deep, dark blackness to my left, divided from the road on which I was driving by a curvy road with a rail that seemed to mark a steep drop off. Suddenly, I had to make a decision for which I was not prepared and based off a sign that contained conflicting signals – in one direction was one of the towns that I recognized, but in the other was the highway that I thought led to Piran but also said that it was heading toward Trieste, which I knew was in Italy ...

THE FINE IS HOW MUCH! SEND MONEY!

... says if we don't pay it goes to a judge who will make a decision on it. He did not give us this information until we asked for it.

We ask what would the possible outcome be from the judge and he says we wouldn't be allowed into the country (maybe all in the Schengen agreement area - European Union) for 3 or 4 years.

We say we will sign the form and he says there is a place to write a comment if we like, I write - regrettably ...

Exhaustion predominates

... I'm not entirely sure why. (Possibly lack of sleep from my night on the coach contributed..)

I catch another coach at half one, to arrive in Krakow about four tomorrow afternoon. Yep, another night. I'm full of anticipation (a slightly weary anticipation, it is true, dulled by my lack of sleep) and I am looking forward to actually having the necessity of speaking Polish--fragmentary and halting as mine is.

Getting my bearings in London Town

... of us. The weather stayed clear so a large crowd with blankets and endless amounts of wine filled the park for the free concert and firework show at the end. It was a great way to cap off a very memorable week. Today there is the Notting Hill Carnival and the Olympic Handover celebration, but its a little chilly for me and I've got some reading to do so I'll see what happens. I hope everyone is doing great and I'll update you all in another week or so. Justin

Classic London Weather

... halls, we looked through a few more - didn't realize that many of the halls closed at the usual time. Only selected exhibits stay open until 8:30. I especially liked the island artifacts from places like Easter Island. As we were leaving we walked through a hall with all kinds of cool clocks - most were animated. One was a ship and back in the day, the cannons fired and everything! Another was a Carillon clock with ...

... have a good smattering of dinosaurs around the other exhibits as well. Their other highlight is a full size model of a blue whale, which is....big. Even the building is quite amazing, with carved animals covering everything. But... I liked the science museum the best. Nicholas was very happy to see Stephenson's Rocket and some other old locomotive (oldest surviving one in the world or something). But there were lots of other cool things too, ranging from the ...

... was like searching for buried treasure......but we finally found one......again almost 1 km from where we needed to be....David was kind enough to help us cross the streets ( pedestrians definitely do not have the right of way here.....nope you would die) and learn to check right before crossing instead of looking left and dying~!~! We took off on "The Original Tour" on the yellow line which lead straight to Buckingham palace where we were ...
