Novotel Langley Perth

I have never seen Alex so excited we got up relly early for a flight from KL to Perth and arrived to see the biggest bluest sky yet without a single cloud in the sky. In fact everything here is bigger than in Maylasia and India - bigger people, bigger cars, bigger food, bigger country as we found out when we went driving through Margaret river.

So we got into the Novotel dumped our stuff and went straight out to walk around Perth - this is a city right with lots of people right? Wrong ...

We have arrived in sunny Perthy, Australia, it has been winter for 1 month and it is 25 degrees, come on!!!!! Dumped our stuff at the Novotel and and went straight out to meet our first Australian's, unsuprisingly they all have a funny accent but are friendly which is a good start. Had a nostalgic dinner in an Italian restaurant with the name of the Italian town (Sorrento) that Ashleigh first started going out together which was sweet, but really we both knew we should have been eating a BBQ!...

Perth is a beautiful city with a massive river running through it, it is exceptionally clean and there is ************e in it, weird for a city but a nice change to London! Uncle Wayne and Aunty Karena arrive to pick us up at the hotel to show us the sights of Perth.

Drive to Bunbury which will be our home for teh next couple of weeks and stay with Karena and Wayne, Wayne lets me loose on his Kermit the Frog green bad-boy Ute ( pick-up truck), apparently all I need is a dog in the back and a blue vest, then I will become a true Aussie Outback boy. Ashleigh also wants to live the Aussie-irish Pyke dream minus the vest, (she will of course be wearing alternative clothing i want to make that clear at this juncture!)

The fishing rods are in the back of the Ute and we are down the beach within in 5 mins and have out rods in the sea as the sun sets. We can't work out whether we are ridiculaously excited just to have finally arrived in this amazing country or we are just excited about the life we can lead from now on. Fishing on the beach in 5 mins from your home as the sun sets, you can't beat it. I catch 3 fish, albeit that they are very small indeed, but still i end up jumping around like I have just land...
