Mommy decided to book the hotel in less than 24 hours before departure due to the bad hazy weather started from Indonesia, we needed some fresh air and also a getaway for this school holidays, then we just packed and went!

Nice, friendly service. Nice food. Nice location, close to skywalk. Pavilion shopping centre, Klcc walk only 5 mins away via skywalk and also monorail.

My family of 2 adults & a 11-year-old child, booked Executive Premier Room 1 King Bed on 20 June 2013 for stay on 21 & 22 June 2013 at RM1056.76. This is our second time staying in this hotel and we really like the location. We arrived around 2.45pm but the room wasn't ready yet so we shopped around nearby till 5.45pm to check into room 2302.
For drivers, please note that the carpark is quite small and by the time we reached the hotel, the carpark was full but we were blessed to find a lot on basement 2 after some time near the carpark attendant. In case, you can't find any parking lot, approach the carpark attendant for assistance. Parking was complimentary.
Bedroom slippers, bath & hand towels, toilet paper & toiletries were provided.
Free wifi in room and hotel premises.
Our room package also inclusive of breakfast (6.30 to 10.30am) & evening cocktails with canapes (5.30 to 7.30pm) at the Lounge on level 28. The lounge is quite small, can only accommodate 20 people. There is another alternative for breakfast is to have it at the cafe on ground level.
Overall, i don't mind to stay here again.

Nice pool area, rooms were nice, beds a little close, checkin guy laughed at us asking for an early check in.
Breakfast the next morning was good, ran out of eggs. Full buffet option.

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Novotel Kuala Lumpur City Centre
Thought this hotel was great value. Very clean - no smell of cigarettes in the room. White towels were still white!!
Service was amazing. The people working in the breakfast room were some of the most attentive I've ever seen. Nice buffet for breakfast.
Room service dinner was on time and nicely served.
Concierge was very helpful.
Easy walk to the LRT monorail. The hotel is well situated for everything we wanted to do.
OK, the bathroom is not huge, but I really don't care - were only there 2 nights. Excellent water pressure in the shower.
Would go back there happily.
Brilliant brand new hotel
This was the best hotel we stayed in during our recent trip to malaysia. Outstanding value (we booked via the Accor website for RM221 per night). The hotel is almost brand new and the service is superb at all levels. Check in was smooth, room was immaculate. Comfy bed, pillows were a little soft. Bathroom spotless and no complaints in room at all.
The gym is well equipped and maintained and not used much. Pool is a touch on the small side but I didn't try it myself. The spa wasn't open yet during our stay but apparently is very soon. The breakfast buffet is by far the best we encountered in malaysia. The service from the staff in the square (coffee lounge/breakfast area) was nothing short of exceptional. we were served espresso coffee as part of the breakfast buffet which was a great touch we haven't encountered before. A word of warning if booking through the website for a special rate: the special does not include breakfast. to pay for it costs RM28pp but it is worth it as there aren't any good places for breakfast very nearby.
Location is great, close to KLCC and bukit bintang with their shopping malls. Also walking distance to putra line MRT and the monorail. You may have to educate taxi drivers on its location as most of them haven't heard of it.
Great hotel. Central, convenient location, excellent value for money. Exceptional service. Will definitely stay here again.
Great hotel at a very reasonable price
We stayed here for just one night, using the web offer of RM234 (RM269 including tax) that we found on the Accor website. We had a really nice time, the facilities were all new and worked well, staff were friendly, courteous and generally very helpful. Room even comes with free wireless internet. The location was great, more or less just across the road from KLCC, and a short walk away from Bintang Walk. Highly recommended.
We did not make any advance bookings. It was simply a walk-in. They had a promo running at the time, however, we had missed out as we were walk-ins. So, we ended up in with an executive room.
The snacks and beverages being offered in the lounge was rather mundane in my opinion. Service was the same also.
The receptionists were abrupt and not very friendly.
We also had issues with the key cards a few times during our 2-night stay. Perhaps all these minor issues were forgivable as they were a new hotel. But then again, they are an international brand and so there is no reason for the less than perfect service.
It wasn't the best, and now in retrospect, it isn't the worst I've had.
Not the ideal place for a romantic getaway as the location doesn't really set the mood.
However, if you're wanting to look around the Bintang CBD for shopping and a happening nightlife, be sure to have friends in KL. Otherwise, you'll be sure to be ripped off by just about every Tom, Dick and Harry you come across.
The language barrier was also a bit of an issue with the local shopkeepers. Hotel staff wasn't all that informative or comprehensive for that matter.
Would probably never visit KL ever again in my lifetime and probably not stay at another Novotel hotel. I found in my experience with this one was that the bathroom was very crammed and the room itself just didn't have a very good ambience.
However, I must admit that the price wasn't too bad.
Last thing, the internet connection in the business centre kept dropping out at every three-minute interval and nobody seems to know what to do about it.
Except for the pool, which is opposite of a major skyscraper construction site (skyscrapers are currently built everywhere in the center of KL) this was really a super-stay.
My personal award for the best coffee I have tasted in whole Asia goes to ... the Spiral Lounge in Novotel Hydro.
My personal award for the best service in whole Asia goes to the chinese restaurant in the 2nd floor. They do not really carry my type of food, but anyway! Oh yeah the vegetarian chicken was delicious though.
The rooms are modern and clean, nice design and good tv's.
They have free wireless internet - and it really works.
The room rate was really ok.
So if I travel back to KL i will definitely choose this hotel, again.
My hubby & I had a hard time trying to find for a decent, clean & affordable hotel to stay at in KL, as we search for reviews and such, till I chanced upon Novotel on one of the websites. Not that we're fussy or anything, but we were trying to find a nice accomodation for 4 nights and since we were planning on an in-stay for most parts, we decided that the room have got to be bearable enough to stay in.
As Novotel is new and had only one review at that period of time, we decided to just go ahead with it and take our chances. We booked from the Accor Official website, for it's Superior size bedroom. From Pasarakyat Bus Terminal, the hotel is only about 10mins away (by taxi; beware not to be overcharged by them, bargaining is the key). The building isn't fantastic looking, service was efficient.. Though we were quite shock about the deposit (which was twice the amount of our booking) but it was worth it. The room is spacious with beautiful decor, large tv, in-room safe, nice bathroom (with bath tub).. They're generous with the pillows (so you need not ask for more)! And everytime after housekeeping, the towels (there's more than two, mind you), pillow cases, bedsheets, etc are are changed to brand new ones. There's even daily newspaper on your door.
Staffs are courteous and friendly..excellent service and fuss free. The hotel is actually located along a small road, slightly off the golden triangle, which is a relief (so you needn't worry about being prey to robbers)..But it is just within several minutes walk to Jalan Bukit Bintang, shopping centres, LRT, KLCC and the likes.
In short, it's definitely more than just as pictured on the websites and we're really impressed by it's quality.
Will absolutely go back again, if we were to go to KL in the near future.
If the Novotel Hydro Majestic Hotel is on the list of hotels you are considering for your stay in Kuala Lumpur, please do not hesitate further. Make a booking immediately. My family and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at the hotel and we were definitely impressed by its affordability, friendliness and cleanliness.
At the start of our search for a KL hotel, we were given a budget of RM200 by a family friend who was to spend the holiday with us. Being very picky about the choice of hotels and having stayed at only 5-star hotels worldwide previously, we started to search for a reputable 5-star hotel in KL which perhaps was offering such promotional low rates. Of course, we soon realised that that was impossible. In one of our searches, we chanced upon the Novotel on the internet and learnt that it had just opened on September 18th 2006. Although still skeptical, we took the risk and made reservations at the 4-star hotel. We decided that everything being new and clean would be a great consolation to perhaps substandard 4 star services.
However, we were pleasantly surprised. At check-in, we were served by friendly and professional staff, and not forgetting the highly commendable Tip Top service we received from Nel of the executive office throughout our stay. The lobby was small but the rooms were adequate and very tastefully furnished with all you would need from complimentary toiletries and water to wireless internet facilities. What's more, the Citibank rate of RM205 nett we paid included 2 complimentary breakfast buffets (+ 2 free breakfast buffets for my 2 kids under 12), a complimentary extra bed with extra pillows and complimentary parking.
If you are traveling with another family, you could also request for adjoining rooms. You might like to know that there are adjoining superior rooms, adjoining deluxe rooms and adjoining executive business to junior suite rooms.
The hotel is conveniently situated within 10 minutes walking distance of Bukit Bintang, Berjaya Times Square and the KLCC Suria Mall. Those who prefer to take the monorail would also be glad to know that the station is just around the corner. If you prefer to take the taxi, please obtain a hotel card from the valet service at the front driveway of the hotel as the hotel is relatively new and unknown to taxi drivers. If it helps, tell them that the hotel is opposite the Wisma Cosway building on Jalan Kia Peng and most of them would be able to find their way.
The Novotel is of course not without faults, although minor and perhaps typical of newly opened hotels.
·The air-conditioning on our floor broke down. The hotel responded to our complaint by upgrading us from a superior room to a deluxe room at no extra cost.
·The bathtub in our room was choked but quickly cleared by the maintenance staff.
·The breakfast buffet was value for money considering that it was included in our very affordable rate, although we would have appreciated greater variety. We had the same spread except for 1 or 2 dishes for 4 consecutive mornings.
·If you have a car and need to park in the car park, be extra careful as the lanes are narrow and the corners sharp.
We're sure these are only minor setbacks the hotel would iron out soon.
We hope this review would be helpful to all who are in search of a budget hotel in KL that is beyond expectations. If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Boutique Style with a Reputable chain
My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to stay in KL that was reasonably luxurious, but on a budget. I am a fan of the more boutique style hotel - so no big foyers, just more modern and small., close to all the attractions, and shopping, and we just wanted a pool to laze around after some shopping.
We were going to KL for the first time, and were not looking for a hotel that was fancy, but everything was either $70-80 AUD per night and somewhat old and dodgy (the capitol) or about $120 - $130 AUD per night and old and big and fancy and for that money we would have gotten the most basic room they had. (the regent or grand plaza parkroyal)
In our last week of searching the Novotel Hydro Majestic popped up on all our searches, and it turns out it opened in late september or early October. It was about $100 AUD per night, had a great pool, and it was brand new!!
My boyf said it prob wouldn't have a finished pool, and they would still be drilling and working on it all night. He was sooo wrong!
It was EXACTLY what we wanted! Boutique style, pool, funky interiors in room and whole hotel, great sized room and bathroom, and clean, it had electronic safe, great airconditioning and the most friendliest staff we have ever met!!
The real stand out at this hotel is the staff - everytime we walked out of the lift and into the foyer, we had front desk staff, doormen, concierge, in fact any staff member that saw us, all greet us in the traditional malay way ( holding their hand to their heart) and say" good morning" or "how are you?". i dropped something on the steps of the hotel entrance and i had 5 doormen on their hands and knees looking for it in seconds - and i didn't even ask.
Check in was in the late evening, and it was flawless. All details were correct, staff were fast and very freindly.
We had a drink at the bar (live cover trio every night except sundays) and the bar staff told us it was a pleasure to serve us! Who says that?!? They were exceptional in every sense. Ausralian hotels are nice, but the staff don't go out oftheir way to do anything, unless they really have to. Novotel made Australian hotel staff look inconsiderate.
Room service was good but food is good everywhere in KL.
Only disappointment was the hotel breakfast buffet. But i generally don't like hotel breakfast, i would prefer to go out and get breakfast elsewhere.
Another down side - nothing to do with hotel - not all cab drivers weren familiar with it yet because it was so new. It should cost only 3 RM to get from this hotel to jalan bukit bintang, or you could walk if you were ambitious. KLCC is a short 5 minute walk away.
One of the restaurants wasn't open yet, but we never heard any building or saw any builders, we think they were just fitting it out with tables and carpet or something.
It was the first stop of our holiday, and we were so glad it didn't disappoint. As a young couple we never felt like we weren't being taken seriously, or had to be business like and serious to get attention, staff were always good.
Would stay here again and tell all friends to stay here in future!
