... 2009" eatery and slowly went back to the car park. Ho my god, ho my god, ho my god... we have been clamped. Look left then right and found the local parking inspector going along his merry way. I managed to talk my way out of the fine he took of the immobiliser we a big smile on his face. Time to go back to the hotel as tomorrow we have a big day.
Kraków, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland fbauchet... a cool underground restaurant thing. Wish we knew some good places to go and get proper Polish food but its difficult when a lot of places seem directed towards tourists. I had meat pierogi which were tasty and loz had a salad again I think (she loves greek salads, apart from the olives and tomatos..) Hit the legendary per-ga-min for some drinks then walked back home. Nearly went to a 70's,80's and 90's club but decided against it after we got back..
Krakow, Poland finntopson... also to document the atrocities inflected upon them. It was with a great deal of unease that I found myself at its gates, perhaps the closest thing on earth to the gates of hell. Under the sign 'Arbeit Macht Frei' meaning 'Work makes (one) Free' you enter the camp making the same walk that many hundreds of thousands made to their eventual death. At first it was the Poles that were imprisoned in the camps but soon they would be joined by Soviet prisoners of war, Gypsies and when in 1942 it ...
Krakow, Southern Poland, Poland talamarko... went to be punished if they broke the rules, for instance had gone to the toilet out of hours or weren't working hard enough. very few prosoners actually survived these punishments. they were awful. Human experiments where also performed, they were basically treated like lab mice. Many of the other blocks in Auschwitz 1 have been turned into museums, the exhibits that i felt the most were thousands of pairs of shoes of victims in a massive big pile including babies booties ...
Krakow, Poland melvic... tells me this is typical of hostels. She was in one where all the shower stalls had glass doors and everyone could see everyone else and in another hostel in Denmark she said everyone showered in one big shower together...men in theirs and women in theirs. I think I will stick to hotels, ha ha! or at least a hostel that has rooms with ensuites....and there are some of those ...
Krakow, Poland planetwalker... people reading my blog, which made me feel unease. Some people wrote me that they didnt like too much what I wrote about themself... being maybe too direct or harsh or also misunderstood. Anyway, I tried to correct some part of it. Sorry about that :( ------------- January 15 Ok, back in Krakow... hostless. Obviously things turned again not at ease at Tomek, so instead of asking I simply left. Though I ended up being short with hosting. Not being expected in my next destination ...
Krakow, Poland maplefanta... to go to Auschwitz and Birkenau. The big concentration camps which killed 2 million jews if you didnt know. Walked around the camps, was pretty off and eerry knowing so many people died where you were walking. There was a firing squad wall and exhibits filled with 1000's of glasses or shoes or artificial limbs. There was a whole wall of hair which they used to make bags out of. It was filth. And so were the hamburgers they sold their which im sure was rat. I ...
Krakow, Poland bharden... onto DVD. My friends, I say to you, The Land Before Time XI - The Invasion of the Tinysauruses may be one of the greatest accomplishments of the 21st century. From it's lyrical masterpiece of song to the animation of all those little Tinysauruses, this movie was one of the greatest cinematic experience of my life.
Krakow, Poland posickey... they placed there clothes on as they would need to claim their clothes later. Then they were lead naked into the gas chamber and the gas was released. It took up to twenty minutes for the gas to kill all those inside the chamber. Then the doors were opened and a group of Jewish prisoners were in charge of the removal of the bodies and transport to the crematoriums upstairs. At one point the crematorium could not keep up with the rate of killing at the camp and the Nazi's resorted to ...
