      We'd decided that Lucy should have a turn to pick what to do and a lucky spot of a wild life park sign and a quick google search saw us going to the zoo!

      Amazing, only €10 each got us in to the park and you could have easily spent days walking round. We saw tigers, bears and wolfs. We fed alpacas, two horned unicorns and bisons. Neil got butted by a ram and then we witnessed a reindeer giving birth and all this before lunch. ...

      ... climb the church tower (280 steps) which gave great views over the town and surrounding land. (In Amsterdam you pay €7.50 to climb the Westerkerk church tower!)

      All in all a pleasant, picturesque town, with affordable cafes and parking and friendly people, though most visitors were a bit old. Made me feel so young!

      After 20 hours of planes, trains, and automobiles, we have arrived safely at our destination and can once again sleep in a horizontal position. We couldn't figure out how to use the GPS system in the Mercedes Benz rental! So grateful we had the iPad to come to the rescue. We are staying at the edge of a lake, and had dinner al fresco.       ... a mausoleum, expanses of grass and avenues of trees. Interestingly, one row of trees were considered unhealthy, and were scheduled to be removed. However, a Hermit beetle colony was discovered in the trees, and had to be relocated before this could happen......such is life!
