It was sooooo cold in Frankfurt, we didn't want to spend much time here since we had no winter clothing. WE got in late, went to our hotel, then back to the airport to get our flight to Bangkok moved up. We though it would be at 8 that night, but they managed to get us on the next flight out, which was pretty much within the hour. Woohooo! I also kept speaking Italian in Germany... so confused with all the languages.

I am safe and sound and currently sitting at Stern Kafferosterei, a small café in Frankfurt, Germany, devouring a caprese ciabatta and a coffee with milk. Let me begin at the beginning though. My plan was to be totally prepared by Monday, thereby spending my last day sleeping in, eating breakfast, and visiting family. ... on schedule (it was Germany, after all - everything is on schedule!), and it stopped in Frankfurt for exactly 5 minutes...I booked us a compartment for two with private bathroom (a very tiny one, but still), so - it was quite comfortable....despite it being late we didn't go to bed right away, but eventually the gentle rocking of the train put us to sleep...in the morning, we would wake up in Prague....

... that the local time was approx. 10:45 am or so and I had set my watch accordingly. When we sat down, I noted that it was about 11: 15. After about 10 min. of sitting, I noticed some departure boards just a few feet behind us and I said to George that perhaps we should go and check to make sure our flight was on time. ... it was actually kinda funny. After lunch, we hurried to catch the ICE (a high-speed train) to Mannheim. Once we got on, I realized I'd left the flowers at the restaurant. It was too late to go after them, unfortunately. We made it into the Mannheim Zentrum (central station) and hopped on another train to get to Benjamin Franklin Village (one of the bases in Mannheim); Mat was currently staying with a friend.
