... a lit candle in a slice of bread, turned out the lights and came and sang happy birthday to me in Italian. It’s a really fun place and the food is excellent as well.
Well it’s Sunday afternoon here and once again this week I’m watching golf and Mary is prepping for a home cooked dinner. Tonight its fried fresh sausage and Italian potato salad with fava beans and fresh cherry tomatoes. Can’t wait.

... which would have been hard to keep your concentration in, and another board room and they are both still used today. There was a courtyard, sculptures, an odd toilet and many many other things. One room was the family chapel, and all 4 walls and the inset room were surrounded by a fresco. I stayed in there for quite a while noticing more and more tiny details hidden in the picture.

... lunch at a restaurant called Marco Ottaviano. after lunch I went back to Florence on the train. when I got back I went to the Uffizi gallery but I had to wait in line for 5 hours and by the time I got in it was closed. I was disappointed but then I went to Mangena pizza Firenze for dinner and had pizza. it was getting late so then I went back to the hotel and went to ...
... the Galileo Museum which was really interesting showing many instruments and devices for star gazing, experiments and medical discoveries over 500 years. Our Chianti wine journey followed sitting in the shade enjoying 29 degrees and people watching. Dinner tonight was pasta and great conversations with other Aussies on their Florence adventure. Eating gelato on the way home was a lovely end to another food filled day in Italy. Off to Siena by bus tomorrow, stay tuned ...
... br> Bussed it up to the Piazza Michelangelo which overlooks the city for a sunset shot, however someone invited clouds and not the sun. Instead we drank some really cheap red plonk and watched the sky go dark instead, so it wasn't a complete flop.
Heading for Lucca tomorrow on the train after spending the morning wandering around Florence.
