      ... had instructed us to do. Then we watched as the garbage barge made its way down the canal, taking both piles and shoving them into the single gaping mouth of the barge's garbage compacting machine. Why bother separating? Certainly this is not lost on the good citizens of Venice. Perhaps something that helps give tourists a sense that at least when it comes to it's waste, Venice is a green modern city.

      ... wall of the Art Hotel and others were hanging from high wires appearing to be performers over the courtyard. We didn't take any notes but apparently the art was meant to capitalize on a Florence tradition of art objects with the similar body features in a tongue and cheek manner. This was a permanent installation sponsored by the hotel and the adjacent Leica camera store.

      This winery was a property that had a lot of history, much like the castle we visited earlier that day.       ... we know. it was really funny that we were both there at the same time because we were on our phones and talking about that they were in Florence and then Sam came back from the bathroom and saw them in their room. It was just too funny. We also saw the same girl that we know over and over again walking around in Florence while we were there.       ... that it meant, “Canceled” (ha!), I asked a lady standing next to me. She spoke no English but was able to make me understand that the word referred only to the type of train.

      I still had at least 40 minutes to wait, so I ended up getting breakfast at a stand near by—water, a muffin, a Kit Kat for later! I noticed that the receipt said it was an Autogrille; quite different from the massive ones we stopped at along the highways! Back ...
