Hi everyone
On Friday, we visited the amazing Burj al Arab hotel for lunch. The only way you can get in is if you are a guest (it costs $1000's a night) or if you make a booking for lunch or dinner.
This hotel is the only 7-star hotel in the world, and unless we win lotto I don't think that I'll ever be able to stay a night ...
Hi every one
We arrived safe and sound in Dubai after a pretty unevenful 10 1/2 hour flight from Perth. From there things went a little south, as our hotel that mum had booked told us that they didn't have a spare room for us, but they had given us another room at the Marriot hotel around the corner - and from there things started looking up again. We were put into a massive 2 bedroom suite overlooking the Palm Atlantis hotel. So we had two ...
... exhaustion.......
Having slept for a grand total of about 2-3 hours in about 48, the waterless, hot walk around Bur Dubai really took its toll on us. We arrived back at the hotel with grand plans to go out for some local cuisine. After a short rest on the bed we both decided that it would be a much better idea to just have a sleep and get up nice and early to beat the heat the next day.
Cue nearly 12 hours later..................................
... to cool down. Then to the Dubai Mall...biggest in the world, just like everything in Dubai. With the biggest aquarium and the biggest building, and Michelle got a burned bum from sitting down on the hot ground! Walked past the designer shops for kids and got a shuttle back to our hotel....or somewhere near our hotel, as it turned out, to get a taxi to the airport at 5pm, all hot and sweaty from our day out!
Dubai, United Arab Emirates deanandmichelle... in to the Sea Breeze B&B, right on the sea front. Apparently it's been recently decorated and the owners went for themed rooms. One Indian, one Turkish and one Chinese. All excellent! Really felt and looked palatial. The rain had eased a little so we took the short walk into town to look at the shops/architecture/cars/people... Being Art Deco weekend (a celebration of the 30's), all were glorious! The shops full of great stuff, the buildings like something from a magazine ...
Dubai, United Arab Emirates dave22... and we wake up just in time for breakfast, a fabulous buffet spread with eggs, croissants and comb honey. Wonderfull. Our original plan was to stay in Dubai for three nights and leave on Wednesday. We decided that it would be better to relax more after our Asia travels, stay for an extra couple of nights and leave Friday. I phone to change our flights, which was no problem but did incur a fifty British pounds charge from Emirates airlines. We try and contact our Athens hotel ...
Dubai, United Arab Emirates harryandnorah... t know. I think I was just being an angry female. Last night we went to a club called Boudoir to celebrate Halloween. I had every intention to stay home, but my roommates dragged me out. I wasn't crazy about the place at all. It was filled with people I can only describe as the "Bridge and Tunnel" crowd, and the music was some horrible R&B. To make matters worse, within minutes of arriving there, in the company of Dana, and two guys (my other ...
Dubai, United Arab Emirates elventrystIt was only an adventure the first time. This time, it's just a really long story. I left shortly after classes ended yesterday, hoping to catch a bus before rush hour, and then make it out to Hatta after the heat of the day had died down a bit. So I waited for the bus, and waited, and waited in the blazing heat. A bus finally pulled up, but these three Filipino girls preempted me by saying something about how there were no more ladies ...
Dubai, United Arab Emirates holyrockthrower... in Cairo or the holocaust museum in Jerusalem; a little different! Haha, it's more like a cross-over between Madame Tussaud and 'Fata Morgana' in de Efteling. Me and Camila were having an absolute blast trying to come up with the best picture possible! Ah! Votes in the comment section please! The winning picture ...
