Daegu, Korea Rep. jgrayjoseph... I wasn't sure if they were enjoying the nice weather or if the school was locked. The school was locked. 20 minutes went by and soon there was 15 foreign teachers and about 20 students standing around outside of the building. Office workers showed up and they seemed just as confused as us so they started making phone calls. Finally, an officer worker who has keys came and opened the outside doors to let us in the building. It was 10 minutes until class. The ...
Daegu, Korea Rep. brianna29... that I had seen people like that in Seoul, they were a church group. They evangelize by giving out free drinks and a pamphlet about their church. Then the other Korean lady sitting at the table looked at me and said "coffee?" and she had me there, so I went ahead and gave in this time. The coffee was surprisingly good. They tried to talk to me, but their English was so limited and my Korean is non-existent that we mostly laughed. Then, one lady said something ...
Daegu, Korea Rep. brianna29... to get from the bus station to my apartment. We were going along the main street and then I realized before we turned to go toward the bus station that we were on the main street I live off of, so I discovered that the subway runs along the same street. It would probably benefit me to learn the name of the street, haha. Luckily I've explored enough the buildings on my part of town are more familiar.

I found a coffee shop near my work ...
Daegu, Korea Rep. brianna29... enough to get involved with various activities. I'm currently playing for a local baseball team (it would be equivalent to intermediate baseball in NB, nothing spectacular but very enjoyable), 2 very good badminton clubs in which I think I'm used as a confidence booster (however, I'm improving quickly and can now play some of the 'average' players), and finally a couple hiking clubs. They take their hiking very seriously. I have not found any climbing clubs which has been ...
Kongdani-dong, North Gyeongsang, Korea Rep. timmclellan... are a part of the village...of a tribe. It took Facebook for me to realize this but probably half of my "friends" on the thing are from the valley and the place I will always think of as home. So I'm over many of the little beef's I had with people growing up there over the years and likewise I hope people can forgive my imperfections. I am ready to come home but I will get the itch to move again no doubt...
Daegu, Korea Rep. j0rgeherter... film which was very slow and full of silence, but summed up the point the film was trying to make very well. I really enjoyed it, the boys fell asleep! The last few weeks Ive been in Daegu and enjoying the local delights! Last weekend I went to Donhwa-sa. Its a temple in a local mountain. I'd been many times last time I was here, but its one of my favourite places to go! It was the temples birthday month so there were thousands of lanterns ...
Daegu, Korea Rep. schwate... a sidewalk. I had made a mental note on my way over that the bridge did have a sidewalk, so I deduced... that I must have been at the wrong bridge. Long story short, I made it home, walking, a couple hours later. I'm sorry, this is really boring material here, but it's all I got to work with. Anyway, I would kill to get a decent map of this freakin city!! All I have is a ****** little tourist map that is no help at all because it has no detail whatsoever. Today ...
Daegu, Korea Rep. keiran.macrae... however due to it being monsoon season, we stood in the rain (for 2 hours) waiting for everyone to arrive, only for it to be cancelled. However we went to a nearby teachers house and ate loads of Korean delights so it wasn't all bad. Perhaps one day I will see my first baseball game in Korea!! The other night I went to see Ocean's 13 with emma, andy, young mi and soojin. However, as is the nature of the film, there are lots of digs and ...
