... our tickets, large parts of Natal had flooded and we had to take a detour on more than one occasion. The rain was relentless and forecasts for Recife didn't suggest that it was about to change. We made our way to the bus station on the Wednesday morning and arrived with minutes to spare (the fault of staff at our hotel taking ages to sort a taxi). ... and got us to a transit station where we could park the car and take the metro the rest of the way. We hopped on the metro which then took us to a bus that drove us to the stadium. And for no real good reason, the bus dropped us a mile away from the stadium, and then continued to drive the rest of their loop which passed the main entrance of the stadium. To give a time check at this point, it is 5 minutes after game time! So what was supposed to be A 4 hour journey ...

... eaten. The salad bar was massive, there was sushi, cheese, prawns, fish, stroganoff and then the different meats. There were about 20 different types and cuts and as always, the challenge is to pace yourself and wait for the really good stuff to come which, fortunately, was every five minutes. We looked all over for some postcards to send home, but as we weren’t in the tourist part of Recife (you need to go to Boa Viagem for that) there were none to be seen. So we just browsed the shops and streets a bit more, then decided to go in search of an off-licence to purchase some cachaša. ;-)
