          Barb's Notes

Heavy traffic greeted us as we left our accommodation in Rome. There was a short delay as we came across an accident where a motorcyclist was sitting up on the road beside his overturned bike. The ambulance was parked in the middle causing traffic to stop both ways. After about 15 minutes all was well and we were again on our way.

Driving along the Tuscany Coast was quite scenic with the vivid blue sea in the distance.

... my chinese classmate Ziming to accompany me to Nice. I really didn't have another choice, as there was nobody else I really wanted to go on vacation with, and I figured we would get along fine. Here's what happened.

Got on the train at 7:15 am, which involved getting up at 5:30. Met ziming, who was honestly kindof freaking out because it was her first time on a train, around 7am on the platform. Unfortunately, she neglected to tell me she gets train sick. ...

We were a bit put out by all of this news, so went to find a seat in the station and I persuaded Bradley that coffee and pasty would be required to help us feel better. Enter raspberry tart number two, which was good although not as delicious as the first. Definitely helped to improve the ...

... the lobby, we tried to go further but one of the porters stopped us., we got the feeling we weren’t ment to be there but as we couldn’t understand them we just kept walking until we got stopped inside by a another staff member. When we came out we discovered the first casino was actually the Monte Carlo itself. Whoops… At the front of the Monte Carlo was a round about in the middle of the street that had a vine yard that produces its own label of ...

... Drove to the train station where we had been told to leave the car, outside the Avis office (& then we were to take the key upstairs to the Booking Office) but as we were doing that a man kept saying 'No park’ to which we just replied we were told to. Then we realised it was the Avis guy – the one who didn’t speak much English and was not very helpful. Eventually he asked if it was full, just shrugged, took the key after we’d unpacked all our ...
