          Great stay, pool a disapointment

Had a great time at the hotel, even though we didn't stay for long. We were very disappointed about not being able to get into the pool though, because we were not told swimming caps were necessary after we had spent half the day searching for togs to buy. Other than that though, the hotel was very nice.

It all began as soon as the 3:30 bell rang at school, marking the release of all students. I grabbed my bag, said hasty goodbyes, and rushed out to meet Maddie in our usual spot outside school. We were so excited, we practically ran all the way home. When we got home, we both had showers, double checked our bags that were packed from the night …

... We stopped at a coffee shop for doughnuts. Then we bought this feather plastic thing- that you kick. It's hard to explain. We went to the museum, library, opera house and tried to go up the tallest building. The museum had cool stuff they found under the sea when ships sailed the silk route. China made pottery and silk to trade. Over all, didn't really like it there was too many people and ...

Today we moved back to the past. Fifteen years ago we were here in Guangzhou, I for the first time. Sisi's father is born in a small farm village not far from here. As a teenager, he experienced the Japanese invasion. Still a teenager, he signed up with the Chinese free army, but when he was ready to fight the Japanese, they had surrendered. Instead, he was sent to fight the communists. Wounded at the Battle of Beijing, with a bullet within a centimeter from ...

... made available, while hotels are arranged. The evening finds us in Canton, 13 million inhabitants, with large spacious streets and lots of green. Nice old trees line the road, potted plants and flowers at every available location in this semi tropical city. I sleep solidly in our five star hotel. Nice for a simple country boy like myself to experience this world of business. Just a peek into their kitchen. In this high tech hub of ...

... it was just like fright night at Thorpe park. Our favourite we went on 6 times in the last half an hour before it closed, we kept having to run all the way round the queue as they wouldn't just let us stay on. Yet again we walked about 10miles :o. Today somehow we slept in until 12! We must have been tired. Having a chilled day, trying to save money today. Doing some laundry and taking advantage of all the activities in the hostel, movies, pool, table football and loadsa wii ...
