    After my previous night mare journeys I decided to book a soft sleeper for the 9 hour journey from Wuhan. It was luxury compaired to what I had experienced before. Arrived in Shanghai ealry in the morning so got to my hostel dropped my bags and went off to explore the city. My hostel was quite central and a half hour walk to the bund.     ... and are thinking of visiting Hangzhou, I wouldn't exactly recommend it because it is a lot of traveling for something that isn't that much different from many of the parks in Shanghai. I know the parks don't have temples and pagodas but after living here for 9 months pagodas and temples start to all look the same. I would recommend that you travel to Yellow Mountain instead for a few days if you really want some magnificent sights.
