    As cold, rainy and ugly as it was yesterday, today was absolutely beautiful. Thank goodness! We had a walking tour of the old town this morning and then a short boat ride on the lake. Luzern is a very old, but still vibrant and lively city. We toured all over the old town and saw lots interesting buildings and shops.     ... was off on the train to Lucerne, aboard the golden panorama route following the lengths of 3 different lakes: Brienzersee, Lungerusee and Sarnersee. Seems the Swiss word for lake is see, like the Scots call their lakes lochs. The view was just incredible throughout much of the ride as mountains just rose from the lakes, as small villages dotted the valleys.

    Arriving just after noon into Lucerne, the hostel was nice ...
