Travel Blogs from Valladolid
Around 10 this morning, we left our hotel and started heading to Santander! After 3 hours of driving, we are taking a pit stop at Valladolid, an older city in Castilla y Leon. Since it is Sunday, it only makes sense that we visited the Cathedral! It was beautiful! Mass was in session, so we stopped in, heard beautiful singing, and then left. Now, we are at El Barque, a café in the Plaza Mayor!
Next time we post, we will be in Santander!
... to wonder today if I was going mad mainly because people keep looking at me in a strange way when I cycle past with all my luggage and washing hanging of my bike . ... a minor poet/dramatist who hails from Valladolid. The tour was probably only seven minutes long (no English), but it was still interesting enough to stop by for a free tour. Still, a quick look at Wikipedia tells me that the tour guide left out the most interesting thing: "In a fit of depression, he emigrated to America..., hoping, he claimed, that yellow fever or smallpox would kill him." Seems like a lot of work to go ...

When we got there, he told me that he wouldn't be there on Friday, so he made a copy of the registration paper for me, so that we could get both of our stuff taken care of.
