Travel Blogs from Maastricht
Holland is a small country. Just a few hours by car down the motorway from Vianen is Maastricht. But a detour through some country roads with pretty villages and even a ferry to cross a river improved the journey greatly.
The purpose of the visit to Maastricht was to take the boat ride to see the caves. But the heavy rain and cold wind put …
... on a push scooter that he had built himself. Yes he actually went all that way on a scooter like the kids ride pushing along with his foot. We decided that princes and princesses should be treated as such and spoiled ourselves with a beautiful meal in the dining room of the palace/hotel. We both had goats cheese salad with honey tomatoes followed by crispy fried spinach and ricotta ravioli and seasonable vegetables accompanied by local wine. What a perfect ...

Standard soulless city hotel
Staff quite friendly and helpful
Location is not city centre, but there is a complimentary shuttle into the city, but no return - they want everyone to use a specific taxi service, for reasons one can only wonder at! But it is not far to walk, 20 minutes,, and people are willing to help with directions.
