      I didn't sleep well. The airco was blowing in my face and eventually by 1:30 I just shut it down. It still took me some hours to get to sleep and by 6:30 I had my wake up call. The little misses occupied about three quarters of the bed when I woke up and was grumpy. Although I let her sleep and got dressed she wasn't willing to wake. So she decided …

      ... as the route included quite a few minor back-roads that has enabled us all to take in the ‘real Thailand’.



      Best performance on the Test section, which was over some twisty gravel tracks at the back of the Majestic Hills Golf Resort which hosted our lunch, saw Gerry Crown romp to a time of 6:15, next best in the Classics division was Grant Tromans on 6:40, matched exactly by the Porsche 911 of ...

      ... green papaya salad and fried chicken for lunch and the level of chili was incredible, (Have I mentioned how the Thais have an OBSESSION for fire-hot chilis??) The most incredible day.

      We also hired a scooter for 200 thb for 24 hours and took turns exploring this little corner of Thailand - see the accompanying pic of Brett (Jax Teller) Sedgwick... Sons of Apathy perhaps ;)

      ... and turned in early as it had been a long day. We needed a good nights' sleep ready for yet another early start in the morning.

      The bus company laid on buses to get us to the ferry port at 6am and we were finally off.

      The crossing was 1 1/2 hours long and it was pretty rough. Many people were being sick but once again, other than feeling like we had just ridden the world's longest roller coaster, we were fine as usual.

      I woke up about 4.30am, unable get to back to sleep, as the seats on the train weren't very comfortable. The train was running over an hour late too, something which had become something of a theme on our trip. Annoyingly, this meant that we missed our connecting ferry, which left at 7.00am.
