      I didn't sleep well. The airco was blowing in my face and eventually by 1:30 I just shut it down. It still took me some hours to get to sleep and by 6:30 I had my wake up call. The little misses occupied about three quarters of the bed when I woke up and was grumpy. Although I let her sleep and got dressed she wasn't willing to wake. So she decided …

      ... few trips we did the major touro places (i.e. Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Koh Phi Phi etc..) but this time we elected to go for something a little less well-known. Chumphon ticks the boxes as the beach and water are magnificent, the food delicious and cheap, the Singha ice-cold and the locals outnumber the farangs by about 500 to 1.

      ... too! However, we all knew there was no way we were going to make that ferry. Even if we had not broken down there was only a half hour wait at the ferry port so no way could the driver make up the 3 hours lost time.

      As we got going again we received a message from bus HQ that the driver was going to make a stop for everyone to have lunch and the bus company were paying as an apology for the delays.
      Wow! a bus company that takes responsibility when things go ...

While it has everything you need, an Ocean shopping mall, a really good night market and a nice public park, all within walking distance from the main hub, actual attractions are at a minimum within the town itself. You really need to hire a bike and explore the province under your own steam.       ... man comes and moves us across the road and our friends appears telling us our bus is not far away so stay where we are. We are waiting here for a while when yet another man appears telling us to follow him as our bus is down the road. We are now with a group of about 10-15 people blindly following these guys trusting they will get us to our bus! We eventually make it our bags are packed and an hour after we are supposed to we are on our way to Koh Phangan. Goodbye for now ...
