Pollution & my $7 watch

There's no denying it: Beijing pollution is really bad.

On our first few days, the sky was relatively clear. But when we were outside, my eyes burned. You couldn’t smell the smog. We had brought special masks to wear, but I didn’t notice any difference when I wore it. Probably my lungs felt otherwise.

Joyce noticed that when she wore her mask, she stopped coughing.

But on our departure day, we could barely ...

... the restaurant (Dad counted 35 including our big group of 12). The food was delicious, and it was really comforting being able to have foods like roast turkey and roast ham like what we would be having back home. Expanding in concentric rings from the Forbidden City at its core, the grid-like layout of modern-day Beijing still echoes its Ming dynasty blueprint. ...

Seeing My Big Sis

A travel blog entry by shoulin4 on Jul 08, 2011

... big sister to me.

Getting late, we said our goodbyes. I told her that the CIEE was having a sort of graduation ceremony tomorrow before we left, and that some of us (including myself) would be giving some talent performances. I invited her to come, and she said she'd make sure to be there. Then, I walked back to my dorm and went to bed, very happy for how things had played out that day.

That's all for now, check in later for more updates!
