... for the next French island. Personally I am sad that we missed out on the pleasure of Dominica. However that is just a good excuse to go back for a visit! It has been said that they have great rain forest walks! To escape the island we sailed through perhaps the closest gap of the trip in moderate winds pushing us in the wrong direction towards the rocks. ... sailing. With wave directions slightly side on to the boat crossing the spaces between the islands was rougher than a lot of the ocean crossing! But in the lea of the island it was smooth sailing to the anchorage. Arriving in the twilight hours we nosed into the anchorage as the night lights were turning on. Dusk treated us well as we dropped anchor with reasonably good visibility.

... night. We sleep like a Prince and Princess with our mosquito nets, listening to the gentle waves in the distance.

Just like on "Death In Paradise", we too have a resident lizard staying in our bungalow. In addition, we have a frog who comes out to visit each night. The family cat, mother hen and chicks periodically wander by. At the bottom of the hill, we say G'day to the goats on our way to and from the beach.

... that I could have breakfast, lunch and dinner on the beach as it was easy to clean me up by dunking me in the ocean!

Back on the beach, it was my job to watch the world go by - in between naps in my stroller that is! Watching the world go by turned out to be a very enjoyable task here on Terre-de-Haut. Unlike many places in the world today, most of the beachfront abodes where still owned by traditional fisherman.
