    ... and beautifully painted flowers over all the walls. Again too many steps. I had to crawl up steep ones to get to the next level and the exit. Under duress James was patient.     After the excesses of Suzdal, Nizhny Novgorod was a beautiful setting to have a couple of days relaxing by the almighty Volga. I spent two days wandering the streets and through the beauitful Kremlin in the sun, stopping off in cafes and bars every so often to read David Walsh's most recent book on Lance Armstrong "Seven Deadly Sins" as I was on the second half and couldn't wait for the comeuppance.     The city I am in now, is the 5th largest one in Russia, with 1.25 million people. It is along the river Wolga, my first impression: very beautiful.
