... a banya (ok, relatable) and ends up accidentally catching a flight to St Petersburg and falls in love with the girl who owns the flat of the same address, which he breaks into thinking it's his (the joke being that Soviet architecture wasn't very imaginative so the same flats, with the same locks in the same streets were built in every city). I would come to agree with this more and more later on with every new city along the railway, that did begin to run into one another.

The city I am in now, is the 5th largest one in Russia, with 1.25 million people. It is along the river Wolga, my first impression: very beautiful.

So I asked her why the machines are always available with little or no queue, yet the ticket windows have 30-60min queues, she replied, "I guess people like to wait in line." We both laughed.
