Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Novecento Pisa

    Traumhaftes, modernes Hotel

    from

    from

    A hidden treasure

    from

What a great find! Within walking distance to the leaning tower and restaurants but away from the hustel and bustle. We booked the family room which was quiet and opened out onto a lush garden. Rooms were modern and very clean with great bathrooms. Breakfast was simple but very enjoyable! I would definately stay here again. The only thing I regret is that we should have stayed longer.

    from

    from

    Fabulous stylish hotel

    from

We stayed at this hotel for one night only on our way to Florence. Having searched the net extensively, I definitely made the right choice. The hotel was beautiful, modern and stylish. Fresh flowers in the rooms and bathrooms, extremely modern bathroom and huge comfortable bed. If I had any complaints at all it would be that the AC was pretty noisy, but that would not put me off returning. Would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel without any hesitation and would stay here again if I go back to Pisa.

Un hotel fabuloso y con estilo

    from

Me volvería a hospedar aquí si regresara a Pisa.

    from

Clean modern hotel near tower with kind english speaking staff

    from

We had a one night lay over in Pisa and wanted a clean, budget hotel. We walked in and out of the door to many before finding the charming (and clean!!) Hotel Novecento. We arrived late at night with 3 of us and were shown to a modern clean room with lovely Etro toiletries and a flat screen tv. Full marks to the gorgeous shower with a massive head and loads of hot water. We were only 3 minutes walk to the duomo and tower, near to all bus routes and easy access to taxis for the morning airport run. There were loads of good cafes nearby but what sealed it was the charming gentleman on the desk for which nothing was too much trouble. 3 of us slept in luxury in this 3 star hotel for 30£ each - it was nice enough to return with my man for sure.

    It's really leaning!

... place south of the river to eat dinner at 5pm as we both skipped lunch. I ordered gnocci again. It's just so good here!

We then walked up to the Michaelangelo park on the outskirts of the city centre for an amazing 360 degree view. It's meant to be really pretty up there at sunset but we were two hours early and it was raining most of the day so I don't think it would've been much good ...

... Yesterday, we finally saw the Leaning Tower of Pisa in person and climbed up to the top to enjoy the views. The tower is really beautiful. It is clean and white/grayish and in very good condition. The history behind the lean and what has been done to keep it from falling was interesting to learn about.

The area around it is called the Field of Miracles and is also beautiful. There is a fabulous green lawn surrounding it and the Duomo and Baptistry and ...

Pisa was on our way so we stopped, although mainly to get money. Debit cards are not as easy to deal with in Europe as at home. There are many smaller banks that won't give you money on a debit card. And credit cards are a hassle, particularly in restaurants, as well. Most restaurants won't accept them. But where you can almost always be assured of having a "Change" office or an ATM that will honor your debit card is at ...

... 8211; good and then we walked through Pisa’s interesting streets back home. It was quite windy in the car and it does look like we are in for more rain. Have a look at today’s photos – what we saw today was quite spectacular. BTW it’s our first day of Autumn and the start of our third month already. I think my tan is starting to fade – hence the photo to remember my feet!

Dinner will be here at home tonight. Bona ...

Our day in Pisa! (and Florence too)

After we did all this, we got in line to climb up the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The tickets we had booked through our tour included entrance to climb the tower, so despite our aching feet and legs (from our travels), we did it. They told us that the tower was about 300 steps and they were made out of marble so you could see that they were worn down from people walking on them. It was really slippery as such and you really had to watch your step. ...
