... just took it stoically and then kept about his business. And then as they family called him to come along he pushed the handle on his suitcase down and his dad asked if he wanted him to take his suitcase for him and he just said, short and sweet, 'Yeah.’ All four of us were giggling by this point enjoying the show, as were a few of our neighbours. It made my day to that point.
Leave it to the little kids to continue making my day. On the ...
... people with water guns, a sea lion show, and a replica of the Santa Maria (did they get that from St. Louis ?). The water park was even more spectacular. There were at least six huge water slides (spiral, straight, etc), all centered around a gigantic wave pool. The water park seemed to be far more crowded than the amusement park. There were plenty of shoppers in spite of the economy.

After the show I went and played with the remote controlled ships. I wasn't bad. I got the ship in its dock twice for only a $1 dollar spent. I found a store that sold only fishing gear. It was called the Fishin Hole. The girl who worked there was working there because her step father owned the store. She let me in on ...
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada mgraveli... be. Now that there are two of them, I am going to have to wise up to their "Fool the Human" games. The other day I walked in and caught Monster licking Button on the head lovingly. When they saw me they both froze as if they had been caught with their paws in the cookie jar. Ha! The jig is up, my pretty kitties! I am wise to your tricky ways. Now if I could just get SuperButton to realize she's not a bird or a plane...
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada whereshegoes... there's a never-ending stream of tour buses. As I watch them drive the Parkway and disgorge their occupants at scenic spots (that are obscured by clouds) I wonder what the guides are saying... "... and on your left, behind those clouds, is Mount something-or-other with a beautiful waterfall. You'll just have to take my word for it." I do stop at the Athabasca Glacier. This glacier is (fairly) easily accessible from the Parkway. It's been ...
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada graybeardI have to say, its really strange being home after such a long time. I really like being away, seeing places, doing nothing everyday but really doing so much. Going back to work will be hard, and like the last time, waiting for the next trip will be hard. I mean, I think travelling for me anyway is essential. I have to see countries, visit continents, see how other people live. It makes you appreciate your own life, which I do a lot, but even ...

They tried to imply that we should have took him to the hospital but we just threw back the facts that we had told him this and had offered to pay for a taxi and where the **** were they. The outcome was the statements were signed and the police started to leave, at this juncture Dyan noted that the kid wasn't in the lobby anymore, nor was he in the taxi with his friends outside. I went to look and saw the taxi set off and go across ...
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada lightweight... myself and most people would just brush it off. But for me, I have to hold very high standards with these little guys. I only want what is best for them and I realize that in this moment, I am not. It hurts but I know that they will understand when they are older. I will be back when I can be sure I will not jeopardize their mental health. They are so special to me and I truly love them. I suppose that is the biggest thing. With them, I experience the closest thing to ...
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada whereshegoesThe early morning yoga class was pretty busy as I guess everyone wanted to enjoy the sunny weekend outside. After making a quick pit stop at the Strathcona Farmers Market, I readied myself to go fishing. I knew it would be a quieter day as I was getting to midday by the time my hooks hit the water. I had a nice chat with Lee, a Vietnamese man who had emigrated here 20 years ago. He told me a few of his fish stories and about how much ...
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada whereshegoes... actually quite large by Manitoba standards, 9th biggest city) mining town sits on the border of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Ariving from the southwest I was assaulted by the sight of the largest smokestack that I have ever seen. It must have been 30 ft across and at least 150 ft tall; spewing what I hoped was just steam over the snow covered town. The dump trucks were rolling into the refining facility heavily burdened with their ...
