Good man, Rosie.

I think most people nodded off on the next stretch, as the scenery is flat and dull and it was by now pouring with rain. Lunch in a vast room was again buffet style, but the least inspiring we had had so far. The only highlight here was the discovery that squeezing lemon juice onto the many terribly similar looking Turkish puddings makes them edible.

... was not.

It's hard not to appreciate the centuries of artifacts surrounding us. I realize that as a kid, it probably wouldn't have excited me very much to stare at old bowls and coins. But for some reason, as an adult, it ignites my imagination and helps me to envision the ancients and how they lived.

Turkey really has been food for our imagination.
