... on her way to fill in for about a week until Se was ale to return to us, we all felt so sad for her as she really didn't want to leave us. We also found out that she had to fund the trip back home herself and so a few of the group had an idea to put some money together from the group to fund her trip to come back to us and perhaps a new iPod aswell all together we got about 360 euros together and planned to give it to her tomorrow. ... instead with a line and system resembling the DMV. At this rate, we would miss the next train. We were able to figure out the next train using our phones and confirmed it at the ticket machine. We had a few choices, to wait for a train with fewer connections, or leave now and just get closer to our final destination. Knowing that more transfers means more chances we miss a train, we still left on the first train out. ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Nouvel Hotel Nice
Cheap and cozy
Within walking distance of many restaurants, the beach and the train station, we enjoyed the location of Nouvel Hotel. Our stay for a week was the cheapest hotel offered by expedia and we found our room clean and cozy with a great view of the church steeple next door. The bathroom in our room was tiny, so if you're older or not agile it may not be the best choice. My only gripe would be the plastic coating on the mattress - sweaty at night, though it does promote cleanliness.
On tree lined street, 10 minutes walk to beach, 10 minutes to railway station, 5 minutes main shopping street the hotel is in a perfect spot.
This hotel has friendly staff, was very clean and efficiently operated. We stayed for eight nights and would recommend this hotel.
Had a great stay
Booked 2 double rooms, both clean and with good facilities. We had been to Nice before and stayed in a 4 star hotel, while this hotel is only a 2 star we had no complaints the staff were helpfull and the location was good. If you want good value holiday stay at the Nouvel Hotel
Stayed at Nouvel Hotel during last week of August 2004. Very friendly, helpful staff, and the room was small but very clean and as we were on the top floor the view was amazing. We were close to all the hustle but far enough away to not hear any noise, and the beach was only 500 metres away. Perfect for singles or couples. Would definitly stay there again.
Nice Hotel - except the bath
Enjoyed the Nouvel quite a bit, it has an excellent location and very high ceilings with great plaster accents. The only downside of the hotel was the mildew-filled bathroom. We ended up buying bleach based cleaning products to make it satisfactory - not a fun way to spend an hour or two of your holiday. All told it's a good hotel however and worth the moderate price.
Great value in Nice
We have stayed at the Nouvel twice. While the hotel is not a deluxe hotel, we found it to be immaculate, stylish ,and the staff very helpful. It is in a great location. We were travelling with our daughter and some of their rooms have two seperate bedrooms, two bathrooms, even two televisions for a VERY reasonable price. Would definitely stay there again...the downside is the ever so slow tiny elevator.....but there are stairs!
