Our visit to the Ducal Palace which is on the site of the original Nottingham Castle was very good. The castle was built by the William the Conquerer in 1067. In 1194 King Richard I reclaimed the castle from his (evil) brother Prince John. The castle was handed over to Colonel Hutchison as spoils for his defeat of Charles I during the English …
We moved headquarters to Nottingham for a bit of archery practice and some womanising. According to Barry from The Knoll Guesthouse in Newport, there are 3 women for every man in Nottingham. Although, as Nottingham is a university town and most of the girls are in their 20's, I don't think there were too many wanting an older gentleman like myself …
Years ago when we stayed with Beth and Barry in Coleby, we witnessed a flight of Vulcan bombers taking off - something very special at the time. The Vulcans are no more, but the RAF airfield is now used by AWACS. Two of these came in just before sunset, but so low and fast we had no time ...

We celebrated that afternoon and evening at Norwood Park, Southwell which was absolutely brilliant. We had a wonderful day and evening, congratultations and thank you Rob and ...

The Park Inn is centrally located and has good facilities. The staff were friendly although it took some time to get someone to open the room safe which was locked when we booked in. It would get the extra star if it had a guest laundry. The nearest laundrette is Brights Laundrette which is a 12 minute walk away.
