On a miserable, wet and cloudy day in B-S-M, we hopped on a train and visited Albertville, which is a little more than an hour away. We'd read about the Medieval city on the outskirts of Albertville, so this was a good opportunity to visit it. The train ride through the French Alps was via multiple tunnels and the view from the train was spectacular. If you ever watch the Tour de France, with views of ...

... divine treats. I had a Raspberry tart, the boys had a chocolate eclair each, Mum & Dad also had the Raspberry tart and D had a chocolate croissant. We have never spent so much money on morning tea - it cost us over $55 Australian dollars, but it was worth every cent (especially to get warm and out of the rain!!). (on the slopes and in the resort centre. Plenty of varied
skiing (for the novice, children, adults, and for any serious skiers). You hear lots of English speaking people around and even many French (ski and ...

... amazing, perhaps more than 200 stalls throughout the long street. There is the old town reaching down to the lakeside and surrounding the two rivers which merge around the Palais de l'Isle. The lake is surrounded by the Aips and it's absolutely magical beautiful and about 40 km from the Swiss border. It is a perfect spot for romantic getaway, or family vacation.

I would recommend Annecy to anyone who is headed toward the Alps !!!
