... carbs and cheese, and called it a successful day.

Cue the alarm at 7am this morning to meet with everyone for our bus to Gruyère. Never in my life have I ever missed my winter coat more. I have been perpetually freezing since being here, and have been sleeping under my sheets in my hostel sheet for added layers. But that's a different story. It is interesting however to see how relatively cheap skiing is here compared to Australia. A day pass which gives access to a stunning 51 different ski lifts spread over 5 separate mountains costs 35 Euros ( about $A50) a day. Undercover parking is available in close proximity to major lifts for just 5 Euros per day. And there ...

... all in a very important wine region. We knew after having read many Trip Advisor reviews that our hotel Ladhof wad a dump so we were not disappointed eg it sort of was. Luckily grassed area outside which we could use to our disposal. We had a nice French picnic dinner with baguette, pate de campagne, cheeses, sausage, baguette and for John French style tabouli which i think he myst be fed up with now as he kept adding all sorts ...
