Travel Blogs from Skiathos
Our last few days in Skiathos we spent exploring more of their beaches and monasteries. The town is a very quaint place with a wonderful harbor and lots of cafes for relaxing. The airport is about 5 minutes from town so you can sit and watch the planes land and take off. We have had incredible weather with just one day of rain, the rest in the 80's …
On Tuesday we decided to rent an ATV to really see the island. A guy at the resort told us about the trails that cover the island and the many Monasteries that are here to visit, so we decide the best way to see them was by ATV. We picked up the ATV in the town of Skiathos from a place that is owned by a Greek guy who has a Masters in Economics …
We are staying in a timeshare here and it is beautiful..I am attaching picturers. It is located on top of a hill and has wonderful views. It reminds me of an old Catskills resort, very quaint and wonderful people...
Sunday we took a boat tour around the island, 7 hours with multiple stops and secluded beaches for swimming. The water is still quite cold so only the hardy swim...obviously not us! The boat was filled with many Britts and American students on semester abroad. The scenery was incredible, many caves, rock arches and distant islands. It was a long day but beautiful...check out the pictures.

I was so scared with the smell of the brakes at that time that I wanted to get back to the main road before it gets dark so I did not enjoy that outing very much.
Now that I see my photos and remember the wild beauty ...

Very beautiful location, wonderful staff. The main building has recently been redone and is wonderful. The bungalows down the hill are not all curently open. The walk down to the beach and restaurant is long, back up even longer!! The room we have is in the main building and is beautiful, wonderful sweeping sea views, large sitting area and bedroom, and a very large porch.
