    Naxos

Hello from IOS! You have heard a fair amount about Naxos but I thought I'd fill in the details. We had five nights in Naxos in total. As soon as we got off our (wrong and way faster) boat we loved it! There were lots of families around, tourists but far fewer English people. Lots of local taverns and places to eat. A much more friendly vibe in general than Mykonos! So the highlights of Naxos include - cycling, the boat, a couple of really nice beaches and the outdoor cinema. Oh and ...

... we started watching the shore for approaching cars. An hour later---by now P and S had woken up, C had packed all our things and we had some breakfast---I got a call from Michaelis. He and two colleagues had reached the shore of the bay and I went to pick them up at a small pier next to a beach that would probably brim with life a few hours later. C, S, and P were in good spirit on deck, laughing with relief. They started preparing some food, we ate outside under the stars, pondering the flurry of things that had gone wrong. Knowing that I would have to wake up before 7 am, I prepared J's bed in the kitchen while C prepared ours in our room. We went to bed before ...

... played volleyball, and other games. We were served fresh caught octopus that was hanging on the back of the boat the whole way and pork and chicken kebab salad, bread and of course ouzo. We were able to hang out a bit more and then we were back on the boat heading back to port. But first we stopped off at a few more amazing swim stops. After a great day on the boat we headed for showers and some of us were heading out to dinner. We found a perfect little ...

    ... much smaller.

The people working at our hotel just cannot do enough for us. We tried to stop them from changing the bed and making up the room but they had to so it. At breakfast the toast was burned and the lady did not want us to eat it. I insisted that is how I like it. She wasn't happy but let us eat it. We make our own toast. Later I was taking my post cards to mail them and the young man who ...
