... though and we landed on time just after 11am! We were greeted by Neil and Laura complete with an epic greeting sign, who very kindly gave us a lift to our hostel in the city centre, Surf n Snow Backpackers! It's very basic but it's quiet and we are pretty central too. (We have stayed in a lot worse put it that way). We are in room 303. ... national sport rugby so much! As for the all blacks team, oh god they wer like monsters and amazing to watch and with their win over England it made their 32nd consecutive win at their home stadium and it was easy to see how. As soon as the lights are switched off, the whole cave ceiling lights up with the glow from the worms. They look like stars to attract their prey. And most interestingly, when the lights are turned off and you shine a torch on them, you can see the webs they create to catch their pray. ...

... was not indulged in a smile.

The most striking difference between Australia and New Zealand are the noises! The Lorikeets and Cockatoos of Queensland have been replaced with a cacophony of crickets and cicadas screaming from all angles. But its not just that, there is this strange clicking sound too, like water drops on plastic playing baritone to the crickets; a Morse code of plans for when they inherit the earth. I think they had decided to start with me as I ...
