Saturday in Chicago
... due to expire, but we stayed on as we wanted to see the Blue Angels (Seattle's navy pilots) in action. They were pretty fantastic, and well worth staying on to see. The show finished up once these guys had completed their manoeuvres and we headed into town along with thousands upon thousands of other people. Some Work, Some Play in the Windy City
... and walnuts...which was amazing, with some veal meatballs in a rich tomato sauce...which went so well with the incredible crusty fresh bread (and the white wine helped too ;) ) We rolled out after our meals and strolled down to Navy Pier where we watched the fireworks and people watched, before we had a few beers at the wonderful outdoor beer garden while we bopped to the live music. Chicago..the Windy City & Architecture Open House
... corn on the cob' and past the Trump Tower that reduced its height before it was completed after 9/11. I walked past the Wrigley Building with its shining steel bridge and the giant pantied Marilyn statue to Lake Point Tower, the 3 wave pronged residential tower by Mies just off the pier. I finished off by walking down to Navy Pier full of rides and performances and stunning views back towards The City of Skyscrapers and then followed Marie's recommendation of Webber Grill ...
