... great as Cindy’s. We chitchatted with a couple Asians with huge paparazzi-like cameras (they used them for photos like other people used their cell phones) and downed our cucumber mule drinks, politely refusing their invitation to yet one more visit to a rooftop bar at The Godfrey. We then made our way home where I just barely had enough energy to change into PJ’s before I passed out into blissful slumber.
We slept in ...
... that is absolutely fine, but just queue up and keep me company for the time being. Before he knew it, well after an Indian family took a slightly long time of the ledge overstaying their welcome, Colm and myself were both on the ledge having a picture taken. Result he was on the ledge! He refused to sit on the ledge like I did or look down, but he was on it and that was the main thing. I have won the battle of heights just not the war yet!
We had another exhausting but ...
... occurred. Thus Chicago is a busy, bustling city and there is less acknowledgement of you as a person than in other cities we have stopped at. Hotels here are very expensive, as are Guest houses, even in the outskirts. Our guesthouse, which had good Tripadvisor reviews, is full of strange sculpture and art with Death Head titles ! The room was fortunately very comfortable with a good breakfast the following morning. Entering the metro is through tall metal turnstiles...an ...
... day was yet another busy day: we went to the planetarium to get a good view from Chicago from far away as it is placed on a spit of land on the edge of the bay of Lake Michigan. Then finally we tried the traditional Chicago hot dog: Vienna beef hot dog, poppy seed bun, onions, relish and mustard: no ketchup! Then we got the ferry across Lake Michigan to navy pier to be complete tourists and go on the Ferris wheel! Then we took a stroll down the wrong end of navy pier and ended up in ...
