... stops to experience the breathtaking views. I was pretty scared while we were driving, but it wasn't as bad as the Rocky Mountains. I was curious as to why, and found out the highest driving elevation in Glacier is 6646 feet and in the Rocky Mountains it's 12,183! Good thing I didn't know that when we started out or I probably wouldn't have done it. It also helped that Dan was driving this time so ...

... any good camping near by and also a place where I could get a good lunch and beer nearby. To my surprise he wasn't sure on the camping, but suggested heading to Whitefish for local fare.

Consequently, vehicle lengths over ...

After a leisurely start, we hit the road around 10am. Our first destination for this leg of the trip was the National Bison Range just about an hour north of Missoula. On the way in, we saw our second bald eagle flying above the Jocko river. We also crossed under an animal bridge intended to give migrating wildlife a safer way to cross the busy road. That was kinda neat, we'd not seen one of those before.

... rain. The only shelter we had was the odd thick tree which we ended up using one to eat lunch under. But the snow just got thicker on the ground and we were basically walking through what looked like to me a ski slope in places. We arrived at our destination which was a lake, after all we'd been through it was a pretty big disappointment because it was frozen over and didn't look that great. So we quickly took some pictures and headed back. ...
