... a full day and we were off to Pine Bluff where the Arkansas Railroad Museum is located. There are still a couple of buildings still standing where the St. Louis and Southwestern Railroad once had one of it's round houses and repair shops. Days 9 & 10- Little Rock and Home

Our last stop was with Lauren and Eric, Luke and John William in Little Rock, Arkansas. The boys had a blast swimming and the girls had some great cuzzie time too. Eric even had a break from call and was able to eat dinner with us. We woke up the next morning and headed all the way into New Iberia. The family was waiting for us with a warm welcome. We all agreed 10 days and about 3000 miles across the country was surprisingly fun! And God blessed us with a safe trek ...

Arkansas was next, and we reached our destination slightly after seven! Ahhhh, Country House! (La Quinta Inn, for all of the Spanish speakers in the audience). People come from all over the world to this La Quinta! Even Alaska! (See attached photo of some poor sap who drove down into a 98 degree sauna)

... so tall and so thick that you couldn't see traffic traveling the other direction. I was feeling a little claustrophobic.


As we got closer to Little Rock there was a sign that we were on the “Purple Heart Trail” which are roads etc. dedicated to those in the US Armed Forces that have received the Purple Heart medal.

We began our day early as we had not accomplished much packing ahead of time. There was a threat of bad weather for Little Rock, but it never materialized. We departed from Little Rock 30 minutes late after the de-icing process, but with a hefty tailwind, we arrived on time in Atlanta. After minimal sleep on our second flight, we deplaned in Rome 45 minutes early...at 7:15 am. Just before landing, we were greeted with a ...
