Historical Traveler Reviews of North Conway Grand

Great xmas feel

from A TripAdvisor Member
we had seen this hotel on a visit to nh in the fall and said we would like to stay over the xmas holidays if we could. The foyer was very christmasy and the staff were very welcoming. Our room was excellent .The snow made the whole hotel look special. we cant wait until we can book for this year. Oh and of course its right next to the tax free shopping.

Loving the hotel, but not the pool

from A TripAdvisor Member
I have been coming to this hotel for years. Everything is great, but the pool isn't. It is so heavily chlorinated that it burns your eyes and throat even when your not in the water. An outdoor pool in the summer on the property would also be benificial. Other than the pool, everything else is great.

Thanks For The Memories

We spent 3 days at your luxury hotel on Anna Mc Goldricks' musical tour.

The staff were excellent, always cheerful and ready to assist us.

The food was incredible, rooms very comfortable, and location for shopping was great.

The decorations at the hotel put everyone in a festive mood.

Thanks for everything !!!

More like Grand Central Station

I spent two nights at the North Conway Grand Hotel, and it was by far the busiest of the places I stayed in the area. Bus loads of seniors arrived and departed each day, and lots of families with young children also seemed to be present. The hotel has a lot of nice features. Our room was spacious and clean with all of the good amenities (coffee maker, iron, hair dryer, fridge). One feature I really enjoyed was the free DVD rental. The hotel had a large selection of movies available and a DVD player in the room. For those with kids who are "vidiots", the hotel provides nintendo games through the TV menu. A nice indoor pool and hot tub was very popular with the families, and the adjacent game room was also a popular spot. The hotel has a restaurant but we chose to eat elsewhere.

I had a difficult time sleeping. Children were running through the hallways well after I thought they should be in bed, and the room doors close with a loud "bang". The lobby is bustling and busy, but this extended throughout the hotel. I prefer places where people are more respectful of their neighbors, and keep their TVs and their children quiet. But this hotel is a great spot for anyone not bothered by the activity.

Beautiful hotel

We stayed at the North Conway hotel Aug 6 and 7 and it was beautiful.

The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was incredible. The pool was nice and also the jacuzzi was nice and relaxing. The gym room was good also.

Great deal, great staff!!!

We stayed here 6/29-7/1/03. They were running a special for $59.00 per night and it was well worth it. Indoor and an outdoor pool, art and crafts for the kids, ice cream social and movies every night. Close to Storyland and outlets. Great value, Great hotel.

I wouldn't stay here again if you paid me

from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed here for a large conference. I was told that a rollaway would be provided as there were three people sharing my room. When I asked to have the rollaway delivered, they told me it would cost me $10. When I got the bill, they'd charged me $15 plus $1.20 tax for a broken down cot on top of the $282.50 per night charge. Another conference attendee was being dunned for an additional $283 on top of her paid-in-full room. The windows in my room were so filthy that the view was obscured, the chambermaid was a total no show, the food was mediocre at best and the conference facilities woefully inadequate. What a dismal experience, especially after staying at the sumptuous Mountain View Grand in Northern NH where the rooms were reduced to $99 for conference attendees, the surroundings incredible, and the staff incredibly polite and attentive.

GOOD HOTEL BAD VIRUS!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Great hotel, beautiful area fantastic ski-ing but terrible stomach virus affecting children in the North Conway area and in the hotel. Some kids including mine ended up in hospital. If you plan to travel there in the next few weeks it may be worth having a word with your travel rep especially if you have kids young children.

Nice place to stay

I have stayed here a few times. It is by far the closest Hotel to the Settlers Green Outlets. Actually, the outlets are right out the front door. The hotel has a nice indoor pool and jacuzzi. The regular rooms are nice and clean and the Suite upstairs is great as well. It has 2 seperate rooms with a pull out couch in the livingroom and a Queen size bed in the bedroom. I would definately stay here again!
