    ... went there to see the Ephrata Cloister which is where Conrad Beissel came from Germany almost 300 years ago fleeing for religious freedom.  After living and being involved in different churches he settled here and founded the Society of the Solitary.  This sect was waiting for Jesus second coming so the Sisters and Brothers were celibate, didn't sleep much, prayed a lot. slept on bench with a wood pillow with 1 blanket and ate ...

    ... lesson learned for state parks is to prepare for hiking (it was a brutal hot hike to go fishing!), bring more water bottles than we think we'll need, and that there may not be stores close by. The park store wasn't open until Wednesday and we arrived Monday (the store here was pretty nice though). Also, on the days it is open, closing time is 4pm. It was quite a hike to travel to the nearest shopping center. ...

    One adult day care, one nursing home, two schools, and two after school programs…whew! The schedule was thoughtfully arranged to give us plenty of time in between and gave us a good lunch break too.     ... was starting to rain as we walked out. If they got the second game in, it certainly started late. Had it been a regular nine-inning game, we'd have still been there, and would have had to decide whether to sit out a rain delay or leave with the game unfinished.
