Protea Hotels Tyger Valey

I would like to warn all Canadians and Americans staying at Protea Hotels in South Africa to not use their phone system.

This hotel group is in parternership with a company they call BBG.

However, it is actually the old '800-608-0575' scammers based in San Diego. If you have been hit by the Protea Hotel's BBG company immediately ...

Going Down Fighting!!!

... and new people and new things!!

Does life have to have a purpose or a plan… I thinks not at this point!!

So flying by the seat of my pants.. With my devoted soul mate and partner at my side and my camera at the ready I am set to cruise on that journey of life and grab as much of it as I can!! … It does the spirit good I think to wake each day with the joy and contemplation of what could be!!

And one thing for ...

... lost to the point that I had to call the place and get directions. Stupid GPS! Turns out airports are restricted information, so the roads and address locations on airport property aren't listed on GPS maps. I better brush up on my Portugese, Spanish, French and Italian. Is there an international way to say "Please help...I'm an idiot that gets lost even with a GPS"?

At any rate ...

Départ de Toronto / Departure from Toronto

... my appartment. So I left everything as is and we hit the road, an hour and a half before takeoff. My packs weren't ready, and I wasn't even fully dressed: I put on my socks and shoes in the car, and I shoved everything in my backpack at the airport... It's been the hairiest departure of my life! Then the flight from Toronto to Bogotá went as smoothly as it gets. A few movies and the 6-hour flight was over. I even ...

... seemed like forever before hitting Boor St where all the boutique stores are - did some window shopping. By this stage I had walked a lot and had had enough so started the long walk back to the hostel, stopping to buy some stuff for breakfast tomorrow. When I got back the hostel all was smooth to check-in to the new room. Someone was in the bed I was allocated, but they had been there for 4 nights already so didn't want to move them (even though it would be a nice bed ...

Canada Day!

... their money and their belongings. The man was happy, though, to see Casa Loma taken over by the Kiwanis; he could not afford its upkeep. The place is absolutely huge and trully a castle. The gardens are beautiful. There is a lot of rooms to see, and we got worn out walking here and there and up and down the stairs. There is also an 800 foot tunnel that goes from the office to the stables. After Casa Loma, we thought about doing the Spadina Museum next door, which is ...

On the Road in 2007: Toronto

... stake organized in Toronto, and in 1990 the Toronto temple was dedicated.

Of particular note to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and citizens of Toronto is the fact that these performances are a promise fulfilled. Scheduled as part of the 2003 Eastern United States tour, a Toronto performance was cancelled due to a SARS outbreak. In the intervening years, Roy Thomson Hall was acoustically renovated. The result was very much appreciated by ...

Staying with friends for few days. The Royal Ontario Museum opened a new wing, built in modern style, very funky. Kensington Market busy and very ethnic. Toronto is a big city for sure. Next we are heading to explore east part of Canada. Pictures to follow.:-))
