After a comfortable bus ride from Rio we found ourselves in Belo Horizonte, potentially one of the least visited places in Brazil when it comes to tourism. We were not here to be tourists, far from it, we need a break from that and instead we are housesitting and looking after 3 cats for the next 4 weeks.

Having found the placement through TrustedHousesitters we were over the moon to have the opportunity to just stop. Whilst we have had a few house ...

          Hi All!!!

          Hope everyone is well!

We arrived in Belo Horizonte, state of Minas Gerais from Rio after a LONG 9 hour bus journey, however the reclining leather seats made it a bit easier to endure !

When we arrived here we went to a local restaurant and sampled the local drink- "Capriana" and a meat plate recommended by a very friendly waitor- both turned out to be delicious!!

I came home afterwards, but felt there was some more stuff that I could help my student with so I sent him an email to clarify some things and to give him a bit more information to help which he really appreciated. ...

... were pretty keen on watching the game and dispite the long shot of Cruzeiro winning, they were all pretty enthusiastic. We all sat down and watching the game. A few beers made it a little more exciting, but the mood changed when Galo scored. 1-0 made it almost impossible for Cruzeiro to fight back.

While the mood inside the house may have changed, the atmosphere all around was beyond ridiculous. Every man and his dog on ...

To prove that guys are the most efficient sex, Alex and I had a bunch of stuff today. If we could do it we could save days off the wedding planning roster. First stop was back to the Mercado central to see what we could pick up as gifts for the wedding.

Alex ripped out his Portuguese in a few stores while we were looking for Cachaca (a local alcohol distilled from sugar cane) to put in the welcome basket packs that Jess is making for everyone. We found a few stores ...
