Karl Johans Gate 33 Oslo, Oslo, Norway, 0162, 2316-1700
... the last 5 days reading over my notes every night. I spent the night doing the same, but came to a point where it was no longer helping. I've been looking over this for the past like, month. On rare occasion, I actually feel prepared and quite confident in what I know. While I was worried about getting into work mode, I'm in it, and it didn't take much. It's not a bad thing though... I'm incredibly excited for the conference tomorrow and it's a little surreal that it's finally here.

Oslo, Oslo, Norway cariverga... but we've managed to eat reasonably well for reasonably cheap. The Oslo card also saved us a ton as we deliberately planned to cram in the most for our money and ended up visiting 7 museums in 8 hours! :) There are also many free museums to enjoy in Oslo!

Museums we visited include: The Museum of Architecture (to learn about the new Opera house here, as well as the Alexandria Library which we visited previously, and ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway fiseb... we headed out to the ski jump at Hollmenkollen. The drive up to the top of the mountain was amazing (although we could have down without the constant din of Ellen). When we reached a look out point, we had a fantastic viewpoint of the town and valley. Again, well worth it.

Afterwards we went to the actual ski jump. Unfortunately the ski jump is under heavy construction. It was originally constructed in the late 1800s, and updated a few times since then. It was ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway rhillaryj... home. The museum delivered what I had expected - lots of old trams, a trolleybus and a few buses in varying conditions with some blurbs provided, some only in Norwegian. I was impressed that most vehicles could be entered and they had a good display explaining a typical tram bogie and also an underfloor viewining area. I also found it interesting that during the German occupation some trams were taken for use in German cities and even the odd one for use in Poland. I had ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway v1213... like his work, so it was good. I was surprised by the building - it looks to me nothing like a museum. It wasn't very architecturally interesting (or maybe it just wasn't my style), and it just looked more like an office building. Anyway, it was interesting to see all the security systems which I guess were installed after the Madonna and Scream were stolen in 2004. They also had an exhibit about the conservation of the two pieces following their ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway gocubs... We drove along Hwy 7 all the way to Eidfjord a pretty little town at the edge of the Hardangerfjord. The ferry from Brimnes to Bruravik only takes 10 mins and is actually a continuation of hwy 7. I was wondering why hwy 7 looked like it just ran into the water on the map! Norway's roads are packed with tunnels cutting through the mountains. Some of the tunnels are like giant caves and some stretch for more than 10km's. In Bergen we visited the fish market and the iconic ...
Oslo, Norway kitty... a strong mans man everybody must have thought!! The next morning i spent around Glasgow while waiting for my bus. I had been in Glasgow once before and had actually slept in the bus station as i couldn't get anywhere to stay. I had been curled up in the photograph booth with my bags wrapped around my legs and the curtain drawn protecting me from the lunatics outside. Its a great city if your with a group of friends out on the town but when your strolling around taking in the ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway talamarkoWell, it's 7 in the morning and I am just about to leave for France. It's dark and the weather is at around -8 degrees Celsius, so I am kind of looking forward for this warmer week end down in southern France. Well, my bags are packed and I am ready to go, so onward to Gardemoen and beyond!
Du ...
