          Rest Day - kind of.

A travel blog entry by matt-taylor on Sep 14, 2013

The team got a rest day today - Janelle had to write a press release and I had to entertain our embedded journalist. We went into town for dinner - locally grown lamb and a couple of beers ($90)

Big day on the range - early start, lots of filming - watched the rocket motors being prepared while listening to stories of how when the spontaneously ignite the fins decapitate people as they leave the shed. Nice. I had to wear ...

Breakfast and lunch appear to be the same meals. Cheese, soft boiled eggs, cold meats, bread and a selection of dips and pastes. The coffee machine works overtime, producing a hot, dark liquid that is faintly comparable to percolator coffee. Janelle and I are convinced it's ...

Our first morning meeting was eye opening - I guess where there are men launching things into space there are going to be some egos. Luckily I feel quite sheltered from the politics and have so far managed to navigate the minefield. The UQ part of the team is fantastic and they have really embraced having Janelle and I around - we just feel like part of the team. The day was spent, filming ...
