We were awoken this morning by the sound of the captain’s voice coming over the tannoy, saying he was going to deviate slightly from his planned route, because there were reports of lots of migrating whales, who were in search of the herring shoals.

... when we looked through the window we could see customers sitting at tables; the place was lit with fairy lights and lots of candles. It looked cosy and inviting so we went in.

We didn’t really do a lot after that – I read my Kindle, napped, watched the telly etc. We didn’t go outside in the biting cold, preferring the warmth of the Boudicca‘s interior.

... and the weather is becoming cooler although still amazingly dry. The temperature at the top of the hills (565 metres) is about 20 degrees but the wind was chilly and you could tell we were definitely going north. ... 22 degrees but strangely didn't feel so cold, not that we have experienced such temperatures before. The facilities were very good, a Sami style tent where inside you could get a hot chocolate drink - around the area little flamed torches were built into small ice mounds to ensure people could see safely around the main walking area.
