Up early and on the train to Tivoli.we arrived at about 1030, a bit overcast and not quite sure what to expect, wow, the fountains, hydraulic systems and sheer beauty were incredible. Spring has given this place the most lovely of makeovers. There were tulips, hyacinths and lauristinis in bloom, and a perfect temperature in ...

Day off from tours today. A bit slower start to the day which was lovely. I've booked 3 nights accommodation with air BnB in Lecce from Friday. The host will pick me up at the train station. I found the lavenderia (laundry) to use later on. Had a ...

... I did quite well on it. After the test I had to sit through a pretty quick theology class before I got to go back to the room and pass out. I was in bed pretty much from 1 until 7:50 when Maggie came into the room and asked if I had been to dinner. I hadn't realized how late it had gotten so I ran over there pretty quick to grab some food. After dinner I was planning on going to a philosophy discussion on failed societies and politics, but when I got there no one was ...

... cave and emerges into the open about 50 metres away. On the other side, the waterfall drops over 100 metres straight down. This waterfall is the result of tunnels being dug in 1832 at the command of Pope Gregory XVI after a flood six years earlier killed many people and destroyed much of the town. Near the top by the exit are the ruins of a early villa -Villa Manilus Vopiscus who was a Roman consul in 114AD. Not a lot of it left, just what appear to be cellars and one room ...
