          ... Out of the mountains and about 30 minutes from Nagano. Maleny/Montville style town. Warm here, about 24 degrees - so we were a bit hot as we dressed for the mountains. While touristy, it is quiet and unhurried.           ... in a shop front, amazing French bread and pastry shop, and all sorts of specialist crafts such as custom made chopsticks. The streetscaping is also beautifully done. Best of all it was not crowded. The temple area was worth a look. I did the cleansing ritual again, burnt incense and rubbed the Buddha to try and find a miracle cure for my upper respiratory infection. Anything is worth trying at this stage!           This morning started off rather dreary with some drizzle and dampness on the roads. Plus, it was on the cold side, about 12 degrees with a forecast to reach 19 degrees as a daytime high.
