... many phone calls, and a couple of small tantrums, I eventually found my friends. By now it was already 5am (for anyone who knows me, WAY past my bed time) so me and Lauren jumped on a bus and headed back to the apartment. We both commiserated how neither of us had really wanted to celebrate new years eve, but everyone had been so busy telling us we had to go to Valpo, so we caved and did. The hostel is about ten minutes from the nearest station (and across the main river which looks like it's flowing straight out of Willy Wonka's factory) and is in the bar part of the city centre. At this time in the morning everything was closed up, and the streets were littered with rubbish. There were also a few people on the Walk of Shame. Not ...

... I didn't do anything of note on Saturday, just waited around before heading to the airport to get my flight to Auckland. And that was that. Another adventure is (almost) over. Just one more flight to go.

10 countries visited, 7 for the first time.
