Quick visit to Algarve. Coast

A travel blog entry by carinamary

This will be quick, but here I am in a small town on the Algarve Coast called Lagos

I understand why the Brits love it here ( and there are quite a few strolling the streets) It's a lovely town with Sandy beaches and a coastline with interesting rocks. Only small, but this morning when I was out and about! there was a large procession of school children parading the streets, all in fancy dress of some sort or ...

Ghana, Ghana, gone!

First flight as a new hire for this round the world epic journey. Entrusted to get us from Ghana into neighboring *****ia. Aircraft on ground at Cotonou, destination Murtala Muhammed International, Lagos.
Weather very hot and humid. Scattered cloud at 3000 enroute, threatening rain. No problem for the trusty Twotter. Safe arrival via the ILS for Rwy 19L.

Lagos Day #2

... were fine and pretty tasty.

I left Yellow Chilli at 1:55. The first okada driver I find outside wants N 1,000 ($6.13) to take me to the National Museum. I walk away. The second wants N 300 ($1.84). I bargain him down to 200 ($1.23). It’s a 10-minute motorcycle ride to the museum in downtown Lagos. This okada driver wore a helmet and gave me one to wear. This appeared to be the exception rather than the rule as I saw most motorcycle riders without a helmet.
